Like zombie movies? Like vampire movies? Well I got something for you, a movie that’s got both at the same time. Is it any good? Okay now you are just being greedy.
In The Dead Undead we have “good” vampires. A whole group of them who have been living off to themselves and not sucking human blood but instead being normal and just having tasty animals. Unfortunately some become infected and turn into zombie vampires. Yes, that’s right zombie… vampires. The uninfected try to take out their infected brethren while at the same keeping their existence a secret from the outside world. This fails of course when they run into the cliched group of coeds on a road trip who are holed up in some out of the way motel.
There is also this very unnecessary subplot about a special serum that may make the vampires human again and flashes of the past, the way past like vikings or something, that made absolutely no sense. Maybe there was clarity underneath all the arms fire.
There is about only two things good about this movie; if you are into over the top paramilitary gun play and explosions, we’ve got that, and then there is Luke Goss. The very delectable Goss was obviously in need of a paycheck when he signed up for this bargain basement bad attempt of a horror flick. Even the concept of zombie vampires isn’t enough to save it. And that says a lot. Watch the trailer below and call it a day.
