Your actions or inactions are what keep you stuck at a certain part of your life. This is the theme of the movie Repeaters, which follows the lives of three patients in a drug rehab facility. One night a storm that knocks out the power to the facility. All three patients are are shocked by electricity when they go to try to turn things back on. They wake up in their beds the next morning to find out the day has repeated.
Knowing what is going to happen that day gives them the power to change it. How they change it each time says a lot of about there personality. What would you do if you knew it would be erased at the end of the day and no one would remember it but you? Would it even matter?
I found the premise to be interesting and the repeating of the day doesn’t get boring. It’s a coming of age movie presented in one day. It’s interesting what one chooses to do when there is seemingly no limits. I wouldn’t say it’s the best movie in the world and is a bit “after school special” at times but it does make you think. Worth the Netflix rental but not so sure it would’ve been theater admission.
