This is straight to video action movie starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan (the reason I picked this) and a barely recognizable Mickey Rourke.
JDM stars as the Courier. A man who will deliver any package anywhere no questions asked. Think low-budget Transporter. One day he’s given a job he can’t refuse, he must deliver a brief case to Evil Sivle a man no one knows where he is and most believe is dead. And even if he is able to find him it’s likely that Sivle will kill him.
This movie has all the elements, the sort of anti-hero forced into a bad situation. People with brief screen time who are just pawns to make our hero do things; the guy you know is going to die, the chippy that from the moment you see her you know she’s going end up in bed with our hero; and the psycho henchmen and the plot twist that makes it all worth watching.
The problem is, the pawns aren’t on screen enough for you to care, there is no real chemistry between the chippy and our hero and the plot twist doesn’t introduce it self until the final reel and you are left scratching your head as to how you were supposed to figure it out. The psycho henchmen (Mr. and Mrs. Capo) aren’t bad, not great but they do a decently creepy torture scene.
I can’t point to exactly how things could’ve been better it just didn’t work for me. Not horrible but I’d re-watch Transporter before watching this again.
