I am a zombie fanatic. If a movie has a zombie in it I have either seen it or it is in my queue. Low budget, big budget, subtitled, it doesn’t matter. So when I saw the preview for “Warm Bodies”, I knew I would be seeing it. But this is not your average zombie flick, neither is it your average teen romance. It’s a zombie romance, with a little bit a humor and introspection.
“Warm Bodies”, based on Isaac Marion novel, is a story about, well he doesn’t really remember his name just it started with an R; he’s a zombie. R (Nicholas Hoult) isn’t your average zombie. He wants more out of his non-life than shambling around the airport where he stays. He’s not sure what more is because his brain can’t really think much. But he knows he wants a life.
One day he and his fellow zombies shamble into the city to feed; attacking a group of young people sent out from their walled city for medical supplies. Here he meets Julie (Teresa Palmer), a member of the group. He is instantly enthralled with her. R saves her from the rest of the zombies, or corpses as they are called in this movie.
But even more interesting instead of eating her, he disguises her scent and brings her back to the airport where he tries to connect and communicate with her. Through their burgeoning friendship R starts to change. This change may mean a completely different future for both humans and corpses…

This is one of those movies I have really big hopes for and I can’t wait to see it. Unfortunately it’s not in theaters in my country yet so I’ll have to wait. Since you see many zombie movies I can give you “Dead Snow” to add to your list. Some hate it, some love it and some say that it’s so bad that it becomes good. If you watch it with a comedy aspect activated if think you might like it, since you love zombies.

Yes I plan on seeing Dead Snow. It was written and directed by Tommy Wirkola who also wrote and directed the recent Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters that I loved.
