“Parker” is a movie that could’ve been a great action flick, or an intense thriller, or a great heist movie, instead it’s a meandering two hour made-for-TV movie.
The film goes through big drags of uninteresting. There are no big secrets revealed, no real cliff hangers, no big chases, or no conflicts, not even a good betrayal. The middle of the movie feels like it’s just killing time waiting to get to the end.
The problem with “Parker” was the lack of action in this movie. The few action scenes are good, but don’t have Jason Statham (“The Transporter”, “Crank”, “Snatch”) as the lead in a movie if he’s not going to kick ass all the way through it. And when he’s not kicking ass at least give him interesting things to do and say.
“Parker” is about a thief who sets out for revenge against the team, led by Melander (Michael Chiklis), who double-crossed him.
