Movie 12 of 265

A lot of comments on this movie just dismissed it as a Matrix wannabe. besides the priest like get up, and over the top gun play I really don’t see it. To me it’s more of Dark City meets 1984 meets Fahrenheit 451. And much like the first time I watched Fahrenheit 451, this movie was hard for me to watch. Maybe because I can see how easily things could slide this way and people are getting more an more willing to accept it with open arms.

But back to the movie. Christian Bale is excellent as the Cleric John Preston, the unfeeling agent in charge of enforcement. Taye Diggs doesn’t do a bad job either and Sean Bean makes the most of his usual small amount of on screen time. If you a fan of Sean Bean you already know what’s going to happen to him. This film is good, really good in my opinion and just suffered from dismissal by comparison.
