Bronies are magic

21 Jan

When I first heard of the Brony phenomenon I’m thinking, you have got to be kidding me.  I’m a kid of the 70’s-80’s, I saw the first My Little Pony show. I didn’t watch it voluntarily unless there was truly nothing else on but sports (this was before we had cable).  So I’m thinking maybe it’s this is just a hipster fad and the liking is all ironic or something.  Then I found out they had actually rebooted the series (actually it’s the third reboot, I was blissfully ignorant of the rest) and people who’s opinion I actually took seriously were Bronies.

Okay okay, I thought,  I’ll watch one episode and then I can officially say that they are all loons…I had to stop after the third episode in a row cause I was not addicted and I could stop anytime. See?  Okay, so writing is much better, and the animation as well.  Even though it still has a big cute factor it’s not so over the top and so sickeningly sweet that I want to barf.  I haven’t finished the first season yet, mainly because I have way to many shows that I follow, but I fully intend to finish it and season two.  I’ll probably never go to a Brony convention or write My Little Pony fanfic but who knows I still have twenty episodes to go, anything can happen.

Oh yeah here’s a cool article from and Q from Star Trek teaching you about Bronies

Just John DeLancie singing about the history of Bronies, that’s all.
